Incredible culture experience I hiked the usambara mountains with Tanzanian wanderlust. Our guide Emanuel was amazing, great English and lots of local knowledge and stories. The accommodation and food throughout the trip was great. I’d highly recommend the team at Tanzanian Wanderlust

Oh what fun and great support! Undeniably a fantastic experience all round with Bakari. Bakari guided us on a extremely beautiful hike in the Usambara mountains from Lushoto to Mtae. Not only was it a fun and heartwarming experience, we learnt so much about Tanzanian culture, history and their spiritual land. Bakari also helped to organise our bus to Arusha and recommedations for the rest of our trip. He was an incredible guide and has definitely gone the extra mile for us- we needed assistance in Dar es Salaam a few days later and he was on the phone talking to our tuk tuk driver! We were initially reluctant to use a guide but hiking with Bakari was especially beneficial when visiting the various villages. We had a fantastic and authentic experience. In terms of the hike itself it was very well suited, the places we stayed were pleasant, welcoming, safe and the food was excellent. Above all, Bakari was extremely kind, knowledgeable, helpful and we shared many laughs through the days. Thank you Bakari 😊

The best guide in town We stayed for 2 night in Lushotto. After arriving at the local bus station which is very busy we met Bakari. He proposed us to show the way to the hotel and aranged transport. After arriving at the hotel he explained that he was a guide and available for showing us Lushotto. We did a 7 hour hiking tour and saw a lot of local places. Bakari gave a lot of background stories and created a really cool vibe. After the hike he even arranged a car drive to our next stop and came early in the morning to say goodbye ! A really great experience !

Great experience we had met Bakari at Lushoto bus station. First we planned to do the walk to Irente view point on our own, but he managed to convince us to take him as a guide and we have never regretted it for a moment. He took us "off the baten road", along small roads, through plantations and told us a lot about local history, culture and nature allong thewat. He also arranged lunch at Irente farm (very tasty and a lot). He pointed us to the well camouflaged chameleons and this was great fun for our kids. the next day he came by to dat hi at the bus stop! We highly recommend him!

Five stars aren’t enough!!!!’ We were lucky enough to meet Bakari in the chaos of the bus station when we arrived from Moshi. We spent the next couple of days in his company and enjoyed every second. Bakari is genuine and cares deeply about this beautiful part of the World. He showed us so much in a very easy and very eloquent way. He knows every inch of the Usambaras and every family in it and he kindly introduced us to all of that. We left feeling that we were saying goodbye to a good friend. Bakari even came to the bus station to say goodbye as we left for Bagamoyo. We can’t recommend highly enough. Safe, caring and genuine hands to give you an experience in Lushoto that will forever be in your heart. Asante Sana Bakari

Great day trip around lushoto I had a great day trip around lushoto with bakari. We went to the rain forest and kisasa waterfalls.It was really important to him that i will enjoy the day, to tell me about the history of the place, and i he was a great guide!
