Zanzibar

Zanzibar is an Archipelago located 115 Km off the coast of Tanzania, which main islands are Unguja and Pemba.

With its pristine turquoise waters and its alluring white sand beaches, Zanzibar has become in the last years one of the top tourist beach destinations in the African continent.

Unguja, its main island, is what most people call Zanzibar. Unguja is not only home to landscapes of breathtaking beauty, but its main city is home to a rich and diverse cultural heritage.

The old part of Zanzibar City, Stone Town, or Mji Mokongwe ( “old town” in Swahili ) was declared a World UNESCO Heritage site in 2000. Its historical center features a mix of Arab, Persian, Indian and European elements. Stone Town is one of Tanzania main landmarks.

The rich marine life in Zanzibar makes it a top world destination for snorkeling and scuba diving. The island is also a Kite surfers paradise.

From scuba diving or snorkeling the waters of the Mnemba atoll or Tumbatu island to taking a spice tour or visiting the unique red Colobus monkey in the Jozani forest, Zanzibar offers a wide range of activities that will make your visit to this paradise an unforgettable experience.
